ASSOPROVIDER BATTLES | EP. 2 – We fight for Italy to notice us

MARCH 6, 2021 – In the second episode of Battaglie della Rete, the podcast by Assoprovider, we explain why in Italy the digital divide does not concern the network.

Digital divide: in Italy, it's a mental issue

In Italy, the digital divide is not a network issue. Because the network exists and reaches the most remote corners of the country thanks to the work of small internet service providers, who bring it there. But few know this, because few are aware of those "small heroes" who enable those living in isolated or sparsely populated areas to be connected to the world.

In this episode of Battaglie della rete – the Assoprovider podcast created with the contribution of Sicetelecom, TPlink, and AVM and the editorial support of Radio IT – we discuss how the digital divide is primarily a matter of perspective, focusing only on large service providers and leaving small ones in the shadows, with the complicity of laws and bureaucratic obstacles. We narrate a scenario where users are the main losers, whereas it could be a win-win for everyone: entrepreneurs, politics, and citizens.
