Assoprovider was founded in 1997 and since then many milestones have been achieved. The association established to support telecommunications entrepreneurs, forced to navigate through unjust laws and stifling bureaucracy, has achieved many goals over the years.
Since that year to the present, there have been many battles in which Assoprovider and its members have been at the forefront, to increase transparency and opportunities in the telecommunications sector.
From the Salvaprovider law to APRO19
The first stage of our history is dated 2002, a historic milestone with the "provider-saving" law which for the first time leads to the recognition of ISPs as telecommunications operators.
Follows in 2005, Telecom's conviction for "abuse of dominant position”: guilty, Telecom pays a fine of 152 million euros.
And still in 2013, the association abolished the installer license, which then, is a real block not only to independent providers, but to the distribution of Internet access.
Over the years, the association has continued its battles against the digital divide and for a fair allocation of frequencies, investigating all the new technology trends, such as blockchain and 5G.
