Huawei has been active in Italy since 2004.

In 2021, Huawei Italia recorded a turnover of 728 million euros, with over 700 professionals (80% local), two offices in Milan and Rome, offices in major cities, three Global Research Centers, six Innovation Centers in partnership with telecommunications operators, and five Joint R&D Labs in collaboration with Italian universities.

Currently, Huawei has ongoing research partnerships with 36 universities in Italy that involve investments in joint research projects on optical technologies, semiconductors, 5G, AI, software, media, industry 4.0, etc.

In 2021, Huawei invested 36.55 million euros in cooperation projects between Huawei's research and development centers and Italian universities.
