AssoTG is born, the first news program that tells the story of internet providers

The initiative is launched by Assoprovider, the association that brings together Italian proximity operators, and LabTv, a terrestrial digital broadcaster.

The first news program that covers internet service providers, the essential proximity operators to ensure connectivity services throughout the country.

AssoTG is born, from an idea by Marcello Cama, communication manager of Assoprovider, and Antonella Oliviero, also a member of the board of the proximity operators association and owner of LabTv, a terrestrial digital broadcaster.

"The initiative is part of a series of projects that the association has implemented to highlight the valuable work of local operators who are crucial in the development of territories, especially in white areas, known as market failure areas. The aim is to provide visibility spaces for operators, as well as information they can use to improve their services to citizens, drawing inspiration from success stories.", explains Marcello Cama.

Of the same opinion, Antonella Oliviero, who made her broadcaster available to produce the pilot episode: "We have identified topics of common interest, not only for the provider market, combining them with stories of entrepreneurs working to reduce the digital divide. Information, in-depth sector services, and columns with updates in the telecommunications sector will be the guidelines of our news program, which, thanks to both digital terrestrial and the web, will be able to reach a very wide audience.".

Risks and opportunities of the PNRR and stories of inspiration

TP-Link, a company focused on network and telecommunications equipment, was the sponsor of the pilot episode of AssoTg, which mainly focused on the PNRR.

Dino Bortolotto, president of Assoprovider, and Matteo Fici, treasurer, together with financial consultant Roberto Iannaccone, analyze the risks and opportunities of the PNRR, "which should not be an opportunity to destroy, but an opportunity to build. The risks, in a mismanagement of funds, are twofold, with the increase of Italian debt and the creation of financing forms that can create anti-competitive markets", thus Dino Bortolotto at AssoTg.

Space will also be given to an inspirational story that will feature in each event. In this edition, the protagonist is Danilo Laura, from Sistel Telecomunicazioni, the provider that offered WiFi connection to the press room during the Festival di Sanremo: "Previously, the sponsor of the Sanremo Festival was Tim: from this year it was no longer. There was a gap and we were called by the Municipality to connect the press room. We committed ourselves, making extraordinary efforts, managing to set up a structure in a short time.", explains Danilo Laura to TG Assoprovider.

Who is Assoprovider: Independent association of proximity operators, the companies that operate as Internet Service Providers (ISP). Founded in July 1999, it aims to combat the power dynamics and distribution practices of major carriers and telephone companies. The association, which today includes about 245 companies in the Internet Services and connectivity sector, aims to promote the harmonious development of the Internet in Italy. In particular, it seeks to contribute to bridging the gap that still separates us from the most digitized nations and to help Italy become a key player in the global Internet development process.
