I Can't Pay: the battle against high bills

At the opening of the webinar, Antonella Oliviero, CEO of Consulsat and national advisor of Assoprovider, presents the initiative "Non Posso Pagare," which aims to raise awareness among the public and particularly political representatives about the difficulties companies face in paying bills, which have significantly increased in recent months due to rising energy costs.

"My company, like that of many colleagues, has been significantly affected – explains Oliviero – In July, the increase in the electricity bill was about 400%. This is why we launched the initiative “Non Posso Pagare”, to emphasize that it is not the willingness to pay that is lacking, but the very possibility to do so."

Together with Marcello Cama, national vice president of Assoprovider, Oliviero then registered the domain http://www.nonpossopagare.org and launched a Facebook page I Cannot Pay, to gather testimonies from other entrepreneurs in difficulty.

"This is a fundamental battle: if costs continue to be this high, I don't know how long we can sustain such a situation. I urge everyone to participate and to put themselves on the line," concludes Oliviero.

Cama finally emphasizes how the board of directors of Assoprovider has offered its sponsorship to the initiative.

APPA22, Assoprovider event in Palermo

The webinar continues with the presentation of the activities of APPA22, the Assoprovider event on September 30 in Palermo.

Cama recalls how the day will be divided into two segments: the first, in the morning, will be dedicated to institutional speeches, while the second, after lunch, will be a working opportunity, with technical presentations and spaces dedicated to meetings with sponsors.

During the event, Cama recalls, the two handbooks for Proximity Operators published by Assoprovider will be presented.

"The first is a text that guides ISPs and WISPs in their daily activities, gathering all the regulatory requirements in the electronic communications sector: 120 pages, curated by Alfredo Pasini, regulatory consultant for Assoprovider, laid out by Salvatore Morelli, member of Milagro, and published by Consulservice of Antonella Oliviero. The second volume is actually the new, updated edition of the handbook for municipalities on the implementation of the new European Electronic Communications Code."

Both handbooks, Cama recalls, will be offered free of charge to participants at APPA22.

Due to the issues with the flight sector strike on October 1st, Cama explains, the election of the new Board of Directors has been postponed to a new meeting in Rome, which will take place in November.

Regarding the elections, Cama recalls that "those who wish can submit their candidacy: it is challenging, but it is rewarding to get involved for the benefit of everyone."

Fabrizio Repetto (Genexis): "Everyone deserves fiber"

This is followed by the presentation of the new Assoprovider partners, who can be met in person during the event in Palermo.

The first to present their solutions is Fabrizio Repetto, Country Director of Genexis for Italy.

Genexis is a provider of CPE products and solutions for the fiber-connected home.

The company's mission, Repetto explains, is that "everyone deserves to have a fast connection to improve their lives: a mission encapsulated in Genexis' claim 'People Deserve Fiber'."

Repetto describes how the group, founded in 2002, is among the European leaders in FTTH technologies in the residential and microbusiness market, providing comprehensive solutions, from the access point to distribution within the home network.

"Our clients are installers, network operators, and providers, including regional ones," explains Repetto.

In particular, Genexis specializes in modular solutions that integrate various interoperable blocks, both from a hardware and software perspective, for example offering management services for Smart Home, security, and video surveillance.

Paolo Visintin (evoseed): "We are entering the era of TELCO 4.0"

Next is Paolo Visintin, Founder and CEO of evoseed, technology provider whose goal is to support telecommunications companies in the implementation of their digital innovation projects, with value-added solutions.

Visintin explains that the goal is to "support companies in the sector to enter the TELCO 4.0 era together: in Italy, innovation is possible and necessary, and above all, everyone can afford it. Today, it is essential to create added value through one's services to differentiate, increase retention rates, and attract new customers."

Visintin then delves into the specifics of the solutions offered by the company, which can be divided into two categories.

The first, the so-called seeds, are the innovative products created by evoseed. An example is Intoona, which employs an artificial intelligence system via VoIP to open tickets, record quote requests, direct call routing, and so on.

The second category of solutions offered by evoseed concerns partnership projects with industry operators. Those with an innovative idea in the Telco sector can engage with the company during the Research and Prototyping phases, as well as receive assistance in the testing phases of the new technology in the market.

Francesco Collini (FlashStart): "Secure connections everywhere"

The floor is given to Francesco Collini, Founder and CEO of FlashStart, a company from Romagna, has brought its DNS filtering solutions for malware and unwanted content worldwide.

"ISP and WISP," explains Collini, "must provide secure and reliable connectivity. This goal can be achieved through a filter against malware and all types of prohibited sites, such as child pornography. In this way, the provider can offer browsing security as an added value to connectivity."

FlashStart works with artificial intelligence, processing between 6 to 7 billion DNS queries, thereby creating samples that identify the main threats for web users.

The company's solution is customizable according to the user's needs and protects against more than 80 categories of threats, from advertising to malware (adware, backdoor, ransomware, phishing, and so on), up to illegal content such as child pornography. In this way, it is possible to create customized profiles for the type of customer, such as families, small businesses, schools, and so on.

Marcello Cama (NetLab): "A solution that no one had thought of yet"

Marcello Cama concludes the interventions of the partner companies, who implemented the service with NetLab Mail2WA.

The innovative product allows sending WhatsApp messages, including attaching images and PDFs, from an email client.

"Currently, there is nothing like it in the world," explains Cama. "Our web service is simple and quick to install: activation takes just one minute and integration takes 30 seconds."

The application of the service is very broad. It can be integrated with your CRM or email marketing software like MailChimp, to simplify contact management. Alternatively, it can be used for ticketing and order management of an e-commerce (Mail2WA is now integrable with PrestaShop and WooCommerce).

The service surpassed 200 beta testers in just a few weeks.

Paolo Di Francesco, Genexis ambassador: "Come and experience firsthand the solutions of our partners"

What is the role of ambassadors? Paolo Di Francesco, national councilor of Assoprovider and Genexis ambassador, finally explains the role of this figure within the association:

"The manufacturer is not always accustomed to communicating and interfacing with smaller colleagues, the Proximity Operators. On the other hand, operators are also not used to interfacing directly with manufacturers. The ambassador is therefore a mediator who generates interest among colleagues in products and manufacturers. The ambassador is thus not a distributor but connects technology producers/suppliers with potential customers."
