The association responds to Infratel: «Those who target us harm operators who reduce the digital divide».

The president of Assoprovider, Dino Bortolotto, in relation to thejudicial action announced by Infratel against them states "we are surprised by the announcement, through the press, of a legal action that would have been resolved by the board of directors of Infratel against Assoprovider, and therefore against the 200 small operators committed to eliminating the digital divide, and towards its president.”

the president of Assoprovider highlighted, in a note deemed harmful by infratel, nothing more and nothing less than what political figures have pointed out for several years in public statements, television broadcasts, and newspaper articles, namely that delays in the telecommunications sector have favored what was until a few years ago the dominant operator in a de facto monopoly position.

The regulatory framework so far prepared by the policy to support the implemented public interventions has primarily allowed Telecom Italia to take advantage of the status quo and to be in fact the main beneficiary of the same.

Assoprovider obviously did not intend to attribute any specific fact to anyone, but only to highlight how public policies in the field of telecommunications have been substantially flawed in the past, and the news that in 138 municipalities there were infrastructures built with public contributions that lay unused could not help but trigger all our frustration for having been completely unheard.

It is regrettable to note how a public company that should operate for the benefit of the market decides to pursue the president of an association that should benefit from public policies aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises.

The association, if called to court, will defend itself, thus also protecting small and medium-sized enterprises in the sector in front of the public authority, providing the judgment with the appropriate sources of persuasion regarding the statements made.
