We share the letter that our president Dino Bortolotto wrote to recount the most significant milestones of 2018 for the association and the goals and challenges for the new year. 

"Dear members,

The year that is coming to an end has been so full that it is difficult to contain it in memory.

A year in which Assoprovider took another step forward in affirming its values and "battles" in institutional settings and in the press.

Last February, we were guests at the Chamber of Deputies for talk about 5G with authoritative representatives of the institutions and we presented our "recipes" to ensure that this new frontier is accessible to all operators and not just the usual suspects.

Rome, then it was also the venue we chose for our annual event, Apro18, in which we have further opened the association to the challenges of the future: such as thethe GDPR and blockchain, distributed ledgers that no telecom operator can now ignore.

These are the two national events in which we played a leading role. Around these, a whole series of initiatives were born, carried out by the members of the association. Among the most commendable, I recall the agreement with Legacoop that will help us bring ultra-broadband to market failure areas, with an initial experiment started in Umbria, in the areas severely affected by the earthquake.

In the same year, we increased the visibility of the association, the publications on Repubblica and on Report, are just some of the occasions where we have been featured in the general and industry-specific press.

As it happens to those who perpetually live their lives "on the front line", the year that is about to end also presents another great challenge to face: thethe legal action that the board of directors of Infratel has decided to undertake towards us.

A challenge, after all, to which we are accustomed. Assoprovider hhas always raised their voice against injustices in the telecommunications sector, the risk of making enemies when one has "the habit" of telling the truth is high.

Once again, we will face this new battle with the support of everyone. Faithful once again to our motto:

Help us help you!

My wish for the coming year is to continue growing as an association, as individuals, and as entrepreneurs.

And knowing the stories of all of you and the passion with which you have all participated over these years, I am confident that every good intention will soon be realized.
