The legal battle continues for the Association that brings together small and medium proximity operators against the excesses of the so-called anti-piracy platform (Piracy Shield) of AGCOM.
Assoprovider, the association that brings together small and medium proximity operators, has submitted a request for access to documents to the Autorità per le Garanzie nelle Comunicazioni, to obtain the list of access inhibition measures implemented through the Piracy Shield platform.

This is another initiative that the association has launched in its legal battle against the excesses of AGCOM's anti-piracy platform.
In particular, Assoprovider requests to know what happened on the days of 15 and 24 February in raio, of the past month, when, according to various Italian media outlets, orders were allegedly sent to the platform to block IP addresses and domain names completely unrelated to piracy activities.
"The request for access to documents sent to AGCOM," stated Gianbattista Frontera, President of Assoprovider, "represents a crucial step in our fight for transparency and fairness in the regulation of online piracy. It is essential for us, and for the sector we represent, to fully understand the methods and circumstances under which access blocking measures are taken, especially in cases where it seems that IP addresses and domain names not involved in piracy activities have been unjustly targeted. This is not only a matter of justice for the potentially innocent parties involved but also of responsibility for the entire sector. Transparency and the correct application of the law are essential to ensure that everyone's digital rights are protected in a fair and impartial manner."
The association has also requested AGCOM to have access to reports of copyright infringement that occurred on the specified days. This request arises from the potential claim for damages suggested by some site owners, which could also involve Italian access providers.
