Assoprovider and AOTEC: an alliance to strengthen the voice of proximity operators in Europe

Assoprovider has signed a framework collaboration agreement with AOTEC, the leading association of local telecommunications operators in Spain.
The agreement is established with the aim of:

  • strengthen the representation of local operators at the European level;
  • sharing experiences, technical and managerial knowledge;
  • promote innovative and inclusive digital regulation.

Already in the early months of collaboration, the two associations submitted joint proposals in the consultation on Digital Networks Act (DNA), the future European law on digital networks expected by the end of 2025.

"This alliance strengthens the visibility of proximity operators in Brussels, at a crucial moment for the future of the sector," they stated Antonella Oliviero, President of Assoprovider, and Antonio García Vidal, President of AOTEC.

The agreement will allow the exchange of best practices and tools useful for enhancing the competitiveness of the associated companies, highlighting the role of local operators as key players in the fight against the digital divide and in the construction of network infrastructures that promote development and social cohesion.

AOTEC represents over 150 operators and has contributed to making Spain one of the countries with the highest fiber optic penetration. Assoprovider, active for more than 25 years, brings together 173 small and medium-sized enterprises rooted in the Italian territory, capable of offering personalized and timely services, even in marginal areas.

An important step to give more strength and representation to proximity operators and SMEs in the TLC sector in Europe.
