Luca Procacci from InWebAdriatico shares his experience as a proximity operator in Abruzzo and offers advice to providers on how to survive the increasingly fierce competition.
"Stop waging war among the poor. Only by collaborating can local operators challenge the industry's giants," explains to Assoprovider Luca Procacci of InWebAdriatico, provider in the province of Teramo, based in Silvi Marina.
Founded in 2009, today the company employs 10 people and offers both radio coverage, with its own towers, and FTTC and FTTH coverage, in most of Abruzzo, Teramo, Pescara, Chieti, etc.:
"Our ambition is to go beyond regional boundaries and we are working to achieve this," continues Luca.
Assert oneself against large entities
InWeb Adriatico today offers two types of services, connectivity with the Connetti.it brand, while with Hostii it focuses on hosting and cloud activities, fields in which the company established itself in the early days:
"Our greatest satisfaction? Being able to establish our company, its mission, and its services over the large operators who have different budgets, especially for advertising."
With a humanities background, Luca mainly handles the commercial side and is well aware of the obstacles a local operator faces in terms of visibility.: "The initial reaction from clients is always one of mistrust. After all, the big players in the telecom field spend amounts on advertising that we could never match. However, once they get to know us and understand the humanity and ethics of our work, our willingness to serve the client, they do not leave us."
The meeting with Assoprovider and Luca's advice
It was one of the partners of InWeb Adriatico who met Assoprovider during an event, the Namex. There he had the opportunity to meet other members of the association and convinced the rest of the team, including Luca, to join: «We have high expectations and trust in the activities of the association. The idea that the association conveys, namely the importance of collaboration among proximity operators is the only way to ensure a future for everyone, instead of continuing, as sometimes happens, to engage in a price war which makes no sense, for the providers themselves, but also for the customers to whom it is then not possible to guarantee quality services."
At the end of the interview, we ask Luca for advice for young local operators: «Our work is wonderful, I am in love with it. To succeed today, with the exponential growth of competitors, one must choose a specific sector and specialize in it».
